An old warship dating back to the days of the Old Republic. The Acclamator Class Transport, formerly known as the "Republic Assault Ship", was adopted into the Imperial Starfleet as the Republic's Clone Army gradually assimilated itself into the new Imperial Order.
In the old times the Kaminoan race labored to perfect an indomitable clone army for the Emperor to come. The shipyards of the neighboring planet Rothana were subcontracted to develop the hardware, armor and transports for the new infantry. The bold lines and stark silhouettes of the resulting craft were departures from the polished craftsmanship of personalized styles that marked the final Republic era. Instead, the wedge-shaped assault ships were foreboding harbingers of the new era to come.
The secret KDY subsidiary who owned the Rothana Shipyards crafted the Acclamator Class transport ship. Though designated a transport, the vessel carries enough firepower to be a considerable threat without its carried forces. A dozen quad turbolaser turrets line its surface, supplemented by 24 laser cannons and four missile / torpedo launch tubes.
The Acclamator Class Transport was so effective and impressive in its design that many leading shipbuilders looked upon it with envy, and began incorporating similar concepts into their own fleets. A few years later, Rendili Stardrive and the shipdesigner Walex Blissex followed with the development of the historic Victory Class Star Destroyer. Kuat Drive Yards and shipdesigner Lira Wessex, daughter of Walex Blissex, introduced the galaxy to the Venator Class Star Destroyer and finally what would become an icon of the Imperial Starfleet; The Imperator Class Star Destroyer.
