This warship was built by Rendili StarDrive to the standard design aesthetics of the Victory Class Star Destroyer. But within Imperial Starfleet the design has never gained the popularity Rendili StarDrive had hoped for. The ship is strong and effective for its size, but since the introduction of the impressive KDY Imperator Class Star Destroyer, production of Demolisher Class Star Destroyers has nearly drooped to a standstill. The Admirals simply want bigger and more powerful ships at their disposal.

The command tower section is divided into two primary decks. A ship-operations deck and a secondary bridge deck that also functions as primary starfighter-operations deck. The weapons loadout of the Demolisher is quiet powerful and it is also equipped with a powerful tractorbeam, located just below the hanger, large enough render a light transporter or shuttle immobile. Two TIE squadrons are under the Captain's disposal and it is also capable of carrying up to 6 small support crafts.
