Built by Kuat Drive Yards, this 51 meter long craft is one of the smallest patrol ships used in the Imperial Starfleet. It was first introduced some years before the Battle of Endor. But even though it can take a lot of beating, it has gained little acceptance by Navy officers in its intended role as scouting and patrol craft for larger fleets and operations. Instead the Law Class now mostly serve as customs and patrol craft in several star systems.

The Law Class Patrol Craft only requires a crew of 4 to operate the ship, but needs 11 gunners to operate the 5 weapon stations. It has a brig able to accommodate 20 navy troopers if the mission profile demands it. In addition to the troops it can also transport up to 10 prisoners in a dedicated brig. The weapons complement consists of 4 laser cannons, of which 2 are front-mounted and 2 are turret-mounted, and 1 front-aimed proton torpedo tube.
