Based on the success of the Lambda Class Shuttle used widely throughout the galaxy, the Mu Class was designed for a long range of duties and a pruduction price of 2/3 of the Lambda Class. The exterior is most similar to the Lambda Shuttle, employing two fold out lower stabilizers for maneuverability, though the single tall central fin has been replaced by two shorter sensor arrays. Sienar Fleet Systems is continually improving their line of shuttles, and have been able to customize the Mu Class line by primarily trading cargo space for passenger capability, or vice-versa.
Mu-1 is customized to function as scout ship with troop deploying capability. It can carry 24 troops but only holds limited sleeping space for them.
Mu-2 was originally designed for Imperial Scout platoons. It includes four small enclosed cabins for the 14 troops, well meeting the demands of the comfort-minded long-range travelers. At the rear of the shuttle there is a small galley with plenty of food storage.
Mu-3 is a regular dropship. It has reduced consumables and cargo space in favor of troop capacity, improved sensors, stronger shields and laser cannons. It can carry 40 troops (double capacity of the Lambda Class) but they are seated in a very tight manner.
