The TIE V38, or TIE Sentinel fighter design is well-known by citizens in the Galactic Empire but most of all for its modified cloaked variant. The basic hull, engine and wing configurations are the same as those on the TIE Phantom. The weapon configuration on the TIE V38 Assault Fighter is slightly different, with its tree laser cannons mounted on each wing tip instead of on the cockpit chin. The Empire decided not to order the TIE V38 Starfighers in large quantities, citing the excessive cost and limited weapons configuration.
